Jake Hughes
Jake Hughes is 16 years old and is an aspiring singer-songwriter.
His passion for music was inspired by the music that his parents exposed him to at a young age. Jake is talented beyond his years and is an artist that you should definitely keep on your radar.
Greg Henderson
Born Sept 28,1958 has lived in North GA all his life, and loved the guitar at a very young age, and was begging his Dad and Mom for a guitar from age 8 till he got his very own. His uncle Ricky played and showed him chords, but more over showed him around and other guitars …that his friends had and Greg was like a sponge. Seeing the Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Cream on TV cemented all of that. And from the seventh grade on Greg was writing songs trying to emulate his heroes, Joe South, Hank Williams, Glen Campbell and Eric Clapton. In high school, he went from the marching band, to a rock n roll band first playing, then being a roadie, then back to playing, throughout his twenties, thirties, forties and 50’s and still playing today. Greg worked after school, cutting grass at the Canton Cotton Mill, where some of his family had worked. For a while he worked for a big grocery store chain but got tired of not being able to play music on the weekends, so he became interested in sales, with day jobs in the electrical supply business, selling cars, insurance and advertising, which allowed him some freedom to play music! Greg played in several local rock and country bands …Sly Dog, The Neon Cowboy Band, Roadhouse, and others. In 1992, he recorded his first CD of all original songs, called Dreams of Yesterday, using Wendell Cox from the Travis Tritt band on guitar. With the Neon Cowboy Band, for 18 years, they opened for Billy Joe Royal and other local bands of the area, playing at the Buckboard, Fagens, Western Wheel, Alpharetta Legion Hall and The Lantern Inn. In 2001 Greg recorded a 2 Disc in One CD Cotton Mill/The Smithville Sessions, with members of the bands Dixiana and The Aaron Tippin Band in Smithville TN at FTS Studio, in 2003 Greg signed a music publishing deal with Grand Entertainment, and Joe Meador, who also managed at one time The Kentucky Headhunters and Ronnie McDowell. In 2004 Greg opened Canton City Limits Music Cafe, and for almost 2 years was the first Music showcase in Canton GA. Dozens of bands played there. Songs from the Cotton Mill/The Smithville Sessions stay in regular rotation on the Jesse Lee Peterson Show on youtube for Country Western Tuesdays, and due to that exposure, Greg has sent CDs all over the world. Currently Greg owns Atlanta Vintage Guitars, plays in The Local Legends, classic rock band, The Dixie Tornados, outlaw 90’s country band, and does Solo and Duo acoustic shows. Greg has performed with Davis Daniel in Nashville at the Wheel. At the last Gram Parsons Guitar Pull, in Waycross GA, where Greg has been a regular performer, he was given the Brass Button award for his contributions to Gram Parsons music.
Alex Cavanaugh
Singer-songwriter and recording artist Alex Cavanaugh combines his narrative, introspective lyrics with an urban, gritty blues-rock sound. His debut studio album, Rise Above, was independently released in January 2021, marking another milestone in Cavanaugh’s evolution as a rock artist. His recent follow-up single, “Voodoo Woman,” was released in December as part of an ongoing project. A New York native, Cavanaugh was classically trained in piano from a young age and began teaching himself guitar at fourteen. Since moving to Atlanta, he has made a name for himself as one of the top performers in the metro area and is excited to make his headlining debut at MadLife Stage & Studios.
