Broaden your art skills by adding interest to your paintings while enhancing the story you are telling! Learn many tips and techniques to include painting boats, buildings and small figures that add life and interest to your paintings. Working with shapes, values, edges, color, and mark making, Nancy teaches and guides her class to edit, simplify and interpret the composition to tell a story and create the emotional response from the viewer that all artists seek. With heavy emphasis on efficiency and the foundations of painting, learn how to keep your paintings loose and not get bogged down by details.
Workshop will cover the foundations and techniques of painting. Instruction demos will include: 1. In-depth study of composition, value studies, color temperatures and color harmony 2. How to select and work from a reference photo 3. Different methods and techniques of underpainting 4. Step by step painting instruction on boats, structures and small figures in the landscape and more.
