Dancing with the Stars All-Stars Edition
October 9, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EDT$35
Marietta, GA – Originally scheduled for earlier this year and postponed like so many events due to COVID-19, the Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre (GMDT) Board is proud to announce that its largest fundraising event, Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), returns to the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on Saturday, October 9, 2021.
Since first hitting the stage in 2015, Dancing with the Stars features local community celebrities who boldly take the stage and dance to win the hearts of the judges and audience alike. This year, five all-star groups — each paired with a GMDT choreographer — will compete against each other by performing a polished dance routine. People’s Choice votes are received through donations, and the winners will walk away with the coveted mirror ball trophy while the proceeds go to support GMDT’s Season 65 performance budget, making it possible to stage three stunning productions for the coming year.
This year’s dancers are no strangers to Dancing with the Stars as they have all competed and won either the People’s Choice Award or were the overall winner in previous GMDT DWTS productions.
#1 – Team Saturday Night Fever Fighters – Lisa Crossman, Sam Heaton, Cassie Mazloom and Ken Johnson
#2 – Team No Strings Attached – Paige Pushkin, Lee Smith, Andy Gaines, and Katy Ruth Camp
#3 – Team GRL PWR – Kristen Moffett and Elizabeth Nesmith
#4 – Team Boss Babes – Linda Beggs, Alexis Kinsey, and Brittney Gray
#6 – Team Beauties and the Beast – Michelle Tillis, Brett McClung, and Melanie Kagan
During the event, GMDTs upper level dancers will perform numbers from Jump, Jive and Boogie!, an original production as well as assisting the teams with their dances. Tickets start at $32 dollars and may be purchased through https://gmdtdwts.com/
Support from ticket sales and donations through voting go directly to Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. The 2021-2022 GMDT company is comprised of 108 students ranging in age from seven years-old to graduating high school seniors who train at Georgia Dance Conservatory (GDC) on the Marietta Square.
