Have you heard about the new Dolly Parton movie filming in Georgia? Project Casting is looking for church going extras for the ‘Coat of Many Colors’ movie that will center around Dolly Parton’s upbringing. The movie is a look inside the “tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome devastating tragedy and discover the healing power of love.” NBC argues that the project is not a “biopic, musical nor about Dolly’s whole life and performing career.” Instead, the Peacock calls it “a family-oriented faith-based story about the incidents in her and her family’s life around the time she was 9 years old.”
According to the city of Covington, they are often called the “Hollywood of the South.” Covington or at least parts of it has been viewed through the medium of the television and movie screen across the country and around the world. This southern OTP town is a camera ready community.
The holiday film Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors is scheduled for 9 PM Thursday on December 10. Alyvia Lind plays the young Parton, and Jennifer Nettles, Gerald McRaney and Ricky Schroder recently were added to the cast.
