Community Cup Coffeehouse & Bar

With the abundance of chain coffee shops, it’s nice to see a locally owned and operated one focus on the community, a charity, and of course, coffee. Community Coffee will be located just off the square in Cumming with a planned opening this April.

Their signature latte with edible sprinkles!

Owner Jayln Barr is passionate about finding a cure for childhood cancer and her coffee shop will donate to the research of this disease. A portion of the shop’s daily proceeds will be given back to CURE to benefit those children with cancer. The slogan is: Every Drop Counts!

Barr has been on the board and volunteered for CURE for the past two years and wanted to do more to bring awareness to this cause. Her goal is to donate at least $10,000 next year to CURE.

Barr has selected 2 local business partners thus far: Phoenix Roasters out of Duluth and Cumming’s Plum & Sage Tea Rooms who will be baking the signature baked items. They will also serve four Nitro Cold Brewed Coffees on tap too.

In addition to coffee, they will have a full bar with wine and local beers such as Sweetwater, Terrapin, Cherry Street and more. No contracts have been signed yet though, so follow her Facebook for updates.

The menu will have grab and go items that are prepared off site, but something you can enjoy for breakfast or with your glass of wine. Items could include:

  • Biscuit (with butter or their signature “CC” sauce)
  • Breakfast Biscuit (egg, cheese, sausage)
  • Fig & Mascarpone Beggar’s Purses
  • Macaroni & Cheese Melts
  • Franks in a Blanket
  • Pretzel Bites (plain, salted, or dusted in cinnamon sugar)
  • Pretzel Dips: Caramel, Chocolate, CC Sauce, Icing, Honey Mustard, Beer Cheese

The menu will also inlcude a children’s menu that will have parent friendly pricing with smaller portions. Barr also looks forward to working with the community and the schools. She wants her business to be just like it’s name, the Community Cup.
