Capriotti’a Sandwich Shop in Kennesaw
As you walk in the doors of Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, which is now open in Kennesaw, you will notice this isn’t your traditional sandwich shop or deli. In fact, it’s the Thanksgiving holiday that inspired Capriotti’s most popular and unique creation, the “Bobbie.” What other restaurant chain can say that?
Open for just over a week, Capriotti’s is part of the 17,000 square foot Owl Creek Commons development that sits facing the opposite direction of Chastain Road. Patrons must enter through the side and in the back, but there is plenty of convenient parking for the restaurants and other spaces that will occupy this strip center a stone’s throw from Kennesaw State University.
A recent weeknight visit had most of the tables filled with hungry Cobb County residents, with a few KSU students thrown in for good measure. The restaurant is spacious with an open floor plan.
The menu is packed with different sandwich options in three sizes and you can even add a hot bowl of soup or a tasty salad to your half-sandwich at a very fair price. More on the “Bobbie” in a minute, but if you are hungry, try the Capastrami, made with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and homemade cole slaw or vegetarian subs like the Veggie Cole Turkey, made with hot vegetarian turkey, provolone cheese, Russian dressing, cole slaw and mayo. The meatball sub has hand-rolled meatballs and the Philly uses a high quality cut of beef.
Now, more on the Bobbie. I had a 9-inch and it was amazing. It is made with homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo on a soft roll. It’s the best of Thanksgiving in sandwich form.
Capriotti’s serves Pepsi products, but other beverages as well. My wife and I ordered two sandwiches, chips and a drink and spent just over $20.
Founded in 1976, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, is an award-winning sandwich shop that remains true to their 40 year tradition of slow-roasting whole, all natural turkeys in-house every day. Capriotti’s fresh ingredients, homemade subs and unique menu items have won numerous accolades including being named one of the “10 Great Places for a Surprising Sandwich” by USA Today and many “Best of” awards across the country.
Capriotti’s is perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner and couple prove to be a great stopping-off point when you need a break from all those fall events or holiday shopping.
