Award-winning photographer Kate T. Parker will discuss her exhibit StrongHearted, as well as her best-selling books Strong is the New Pretty and Heart of a Boy. Kate believes that “everyone should be granted the space to be proud of who they are. This is not necessarily a message specific to girls or boys, rather a human one.” All of Kate’s books will be for sale in the lobby, and she will sign autographs immediately following the talk.

Modern Colors

The Alpha Arts Guild will showcase its member art—from abstract to realistic painting, sculpture, 3-D art, photography, textile art, and paper art—in the Modern Colors show, open to the public, at the beautiful new Alpharetta Arts Center from October 1, 2019 to January 6, 2020 with an opening reception on Saturday, October 5, from 5-7pm. The show and the reception are open to the public.
Established in 2008, the 50+ member Alpha Arts Guild is an extremely active nonprofit organization of artists who work and live in the Alpharetta/north Fulton County area, who deeply appreciate art and art making in all of its forms. Through its president and board of directors, the guild is committed to providing an environment of camaraderie among artists, their patrons, and the local art community while fostering understanding, education, and an appreciation of the visual arts.

Arrive 10 minutes early to get uncorked, smocked & in your seat! If you’re coming with others, but making reservations separately, give us your group’s name or point person in the Special Request box. We’ll seat you together! We have a menu that includes wine, beer, champagne, soda, water, and light snacks. A valid photo ID is required to purchase alcohol. Must be 21 or older to drink alcohol. We are NOT a BYOB establishment, so please do not bring any alcohol with you.
Please note we paint with acrylic paint that can stain clothing; please dress accordingly. All supplies and aprons are provided.

A not to be missed holiday tradition is back to delight audiences of all ages. The Nutcracker presented by Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre, Thanksgiving weekend. Immerse yourself in the magical tale of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince on a journey through the delectable Kingdom of Sweets with the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Audiences will enjoy the gorgeous sets, updated costumes, magical special effects, and original choreography set to Tchaïkovsky’s timeless music. Prepare to be thrilled by exquisite solo performances from youth company dancers. The Nutcracker includes performances from our ten high school seniors in lead roles and the full company of over 120 local dancers, ranging in age from seven to eighteen, who train at Georgia Dance Conservatory on the Marietta Square.

Professional dancers D Patton White as Godfather Drosselmeyer and Raul Peinado as the Cavalier join our cast. We are pleased to welcome back former company dancers, Scott Reed and Michael Duncan, returning to perform from Cincinnati Ballet’s Professional Training program.

With four performances on Thanksgiving weekend, this awe-inspiring holiday classic promises to captivate audiences of all ages. Tickets on sale now!
