Write Now: Leap Into Your Story
Feb 29 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Our popular Write Now series returns in 2020 with a focus on the elements of storytelling! Over the course of 4 dates, we will cover various aspects of building and telling a great story, giving you the tools and inspiration to bring your manuscripts to life!
Join us Saturday, February 29th at Fox Tale Book Shoppe from 2-4 p.m. as we welcome authors Ricki Cardenas and Shelli R. Johannes for a conversation on the process of building a story your readers will connect with and relate to!
As always, we’ll leave the floor open for questions throughout the program so that the conversation is led by you!
Ricki Cardenas is the author of two humorous women’s fiction novels, Mr. Right-Swipe (2017) and Georgia Author of the Year finalist Switch and Bait (2018), both published by Grand Central (Hachette) under the name Ricki Schultz. She’s currently working on a Young Adult series. Among other publications, she has contributed to Writer’s Digest Books, and she is also a freelance editor. She earned a B.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and she’s taught English for most of her adult life. She lives in Atlanta now with her husband and two beagles, and her writing is represented by Barbara Poelle of Irene Goodman Literary Agency.
Shelli R. Johannes is the author of picture book series, LOVES SCIENCE series (coauthor, six books) Unicorn (Fall 202) and Thesaurus. She writes middle grade and has self-published six books, selling over 150,000 ebooks.
Shelli never warmed up to creepy-crawly bugs, but she always loved zoology and biology. She can often be found on highways and country roads saving strays and other jaywalking critters, or volunteering with animal conservation groups like the Atlanta Zoo, the Dolphin Project, and Bosley’s puppy orphanage.
After earning a masters in marketing and working in Corporate American as an SVP, Shelli traded out her heels and suits for flip-flops and jeans so she could follow her passion of writing.
Shelli lives in Atlanta with her husband, two kids, one bird, one fish, and two crazy-haired goldendoodles who¬—just like Einstein—all seem to love dessert and loathe veggies.
