As you sink into a plush couch or join a friend at a café table, the modern world seems to drift away as classic silent films quietly flicker in the background while a live pianist plays. The Lumière Lounge features specialty cocktails made with local Hometown Honey in addition to a full bar. The Strand was proud to introduce this popular silent film inspired cocktail lounge in November of 2014. The Lumière Lounge’s much-lauded specialty cocktail menu and live pianist create a perfectly intimate setting for a date night cocktail. Lumière is held on the second floor lounge Friday and Saturday nights from 7-11pm. 21+.

She has also worked with acclaimed actor/singer/television host, Tyrese, Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter/producer, Ne-Yo, the late-great, R&B superstar Gerald LeVert, Lalah Hathaway, Robert Glasper, James Fortune & FIYA, Anita Wilson, Nivea, Raheem DeVaughn, Anthony David, & Algebra; and she’s also been featured on &/or has written on projects with husband & Grammy Nominated Gospel artist, Jason Champion; R&B singers, Aaron Hall & Chante Moore, & worked with Grammy-winning gospel producer, Aaron Lindsey; and, Grammy-nominated producers Eric Dawkins, & Roger Ryan along with many other producers & artists in mainstream, jazz & gospel.

The Feeling of Tropics with Chef Oakey

Regardless of what the weather is on February 19th, Chef Oakley, the Queen of Black Garlic, will provide the feeling of the Tropics in the Leaning Ladder Kitchen. The Cuban, which originated in Key West and Ybor City, two early Cuban immigrant communities in Florida, brought it to Miami, where now it is a staple in Miami-Cuban culture. Taking its originality yet providing her own spin, Chef Oakley will present to us her Black Garlic Cuban, served with Zucca Fries and a Black Garlic Aioli. And, for dessert, Vanilla Bean Soft Serve Ice Cream with Black Garlic Olive Oil, plus a little something extra.
