Starting Tuesday, Oct. 1, World of Coca-Cola is extending a special discounted ticket price to the residents of Coca-Cola’s home state: two general admission tickets for $25, a total savings of $7 or more than 20% off regular adult admission.

Visitors at World of Coca-Cola can sample more than 100 drinks from around the world, see the vault where Coca-Cola’s secret recipe is guarded and snap photos with the iconic Coca-Cola Polar Bear.

Modern Colors

The Alpha Arts Guild will showcase its member art—from abstract to realistic painting, sculpture, 3-D art, photography, textile art, and paper art—in the Modern Colors show, open to the public, at the beautiful new Alpharetta Arts Center from October 1, 2019 to January 6, 2020 with an opening reception on Saturday, October 5, from 5-7pm. The show and the reception are open to the public.
Established in 2008, the 50+ member Alpha Arts Guild is an extremely active nonprofit organization of artists who work and live in the Alpharetta/north Fulton County area, who deeply appreciate art and art making in all of its forms. Through its president and board of directors, the guild is committed to providing an environment of camaraderie among artists, their patrons, and the local art community while fostering understanding, education, and an appreciation of the visual arts.

Scarecrow Invasion Voting

Voting to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place displays in the 2018 Scarecrow Invasion takes place during the month of October in the Woodstock Visitors Center. Votes are $1 each. Businesses and non-profits may collect votes for their scarecrow at their place of business. All funds must be turned into the visitors center by 5pm on October 31st.
The top 3 scarecrows will receive a trophy at the November 2nd Friday Night Live in Downtown Woodstock, will be highlighted in post event publicity, and will receive a guaranteed spot in next year’s Scarecrow Invasion (which includes getting to pick your location before registration opens to the public).
All proceeds from the event are donated to INSeason, the design committee for IN WDSTK (formerly Main Street Woodstock).

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, sirens will be going off at Avalon in Alpharetta – but not in a bad way. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the community is invited to enjoy Alpharetta’s Night Out, an exciting event dedicated to honoring the public safety men and women who serve Alpharetta. Hosted by the Alpharetta Police and Fire departments, first responders and their emergency vehicles and equipment will be onsite throughout the event.

The event will also feature educational, live demonstrations, as well as offer hands-on interactive activities for families and kids of all ages. Alpharetta’s Night Out is held in conjunction with National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

“Conservation Photography at GNPA” with Tom Wilson

Tom believes strongly that nature photographers should be nature advocates and use their cameras to protect and preserve our vanishing natural world, documenting the threats to our precious resources and sharing the beauty that makes it worth protecting. He works extensively to document natural areas of Georgia and provide images to organizations such as the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, The National Park Service, The Nature Conservancy, Georgia River Network, Friends of the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Atlanta Audubon Society, Chattahoochee Parks Conservancy and others.
Tom’s talk will focus on specifically what GNPA is doing as an organization to support conservation in Georgia. He will talk about how GNPA members can get involved either as a Conservation Photographer through the GNPA or on the GNPA Conservation Committee. Topics covered will include:
