The album’s lyrics contemplate the universal human connection to our ancestors, ancient traditions, and symbols while yearning for humanity to get back to its roots. Adding depth and contrast to their live set, Huntertones shift from a dynamic six-piece ensemble to a trio featuring saxophone, sousaphone, and beat-boxing, keeping their listeners’ eyes and ears open at every turn.
Huntertones formed in Columbus, Ohio at The Ohio State University and hosted their first shows at a house on Hunter Avenue. They have since relocated to New York City, released two albums, and toured North and South America, Europe and Africa — experiences which have pushed the band to expand even further, stylistically. Individually, members of Huntertones have compiled a diverse resume of collaborations with top artists in pop, jazz, soul, and musical theater. This includes work with Jon Batiste and Stay Human, O.A.R., Snarky Puppy, Stevie Wonder, Andy Grammer, Ed Sheeran, Allen Stone, Gary Clark Jr., Phillip Phillips, We Banjo 3, Umphrey’s McGee, Vulfpeck, and more.

Violet Bell was an official showcasing artist at Americanafest 2018, and has been presented at venues such as The Center for the Study of the American South, Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival, the Charleston Bluegrass Festival, the Beaufort Music Festival, Folk Alliance International, and many more.
Violet Bell has worked with KidzNotes, the Wake Forest Community Youth Orchestra, and others to engage local communities of all ages in educational and inspiring performances and workshops.
“In today’s world, there are no musical boundaries,” says Max ZT of HOUSE OF WATERS, a trio that makes those words come alive as they incorporate elements of West-African, jazz, psychedelic, indie rock, classical and world music into their astonishingly unique sound.
Five years after their groundbreaking Revolution, House of Waters now returns with its eponymous follow-up. The band features Max on hammered dulcimer, Moto Fukushima on six-string bass and percussionist/drummer Argentinian-born Ignacio Rivas-Bixio! The latest album features virtuosic cellist Dave Eggar, flautist Sam Sadigursky and the singer Priya Darshini.
“Our music is a constant melting pot, which is so relevant to now,” says Max. “It’s like that last D’Angelo record or Kendrick’s Butterfly…you know, that wasn’t just rap, or hip-hop, or jazz, or soul, but it had all of that. It’s an amorphous thing. It’s how the future is going to be.” Moto agrees: “We always just say what we do is ‘good music.’ If I need to say something to someone who’s never heard of us, I just say, ‘Please come to our show!”
