Past years:

For the last seven years, we have been going to Anderson’s Sunflower field for pictures and flowers.  Last year, they said it was going to be their last year opening, but they are returning!  They plan to open in July 9 2019 at 3360 Shilow Road in Cumming, GA.

Once open, the flowers last about 2 weeks from 8:30am-8:30pm until the sunflowers stop blooming.  Entry fees are $10 per car for the general public and $35 per client for professional photographers (paid upfront). They are open every day during this time period. Dogs on leashes are welcome.   You can also purchase sunflowers for $1.00 each.

From their Facebook page:

The planting of the sunflowers began almost 20 years ago by my grandfather, Byron Anderson. The fields were originally used back in the 1980’s for corn and wheat, but after being barren for several years, he decided to plant sunflowers. In the first few years, the sunflowers were just for the people passing by and the occasional photographer, but slowly the sunflowers grew into a public spectacle.

After my grandfather passed away in 2006, my dad, Dennis Anderson decided to keep the tradition going and it has now grown into a family affair. We hear stories all the time of people who drive from near and far to take their annual Christmas photos, pick sunflowers with their families, or they come simply to admire their beauty.

The sunflowers are planted in May and usually bloom during the first week in July and their beauty only lasts about 2 weeks. We invite you to come and take pictures, buy fresh flowers for a centerpiece, or come and just enjoy their beauty. There is also an authentic barn on the property that was built in the early 1900’s that adds to the beautiful backdrop.
