One part of sharing the Scoop that we really don’t like is when a popular local business is leaving. The Study owner Joseph Guynup contacted us this morning and told us that he posted this message on The Study’s Facebook page, explaining why he is putting the Study up for sale.
Well Canton…As owner of the Painted Pig Tavern and The Study, I have truly enjoyed being a part of the downtown Canton community over the past 3 years. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that The Study is for sale. I am genuinely grateful for the patronage of each and every person who has come through the doors of my restaurants. I have met so many caring and unique people and have made some wonderful friends. Unfortunately, my family needs me now, more than ever, and the demands of the restaurant business have become overwhelming to my family. I have set an outstanding price for The Study, in the hope of making a quick sale. For more info about the purchase of The Study, please contact Joseph at 845- 392- 3171. Scoop OTP had Scoop Approved both The Study and Guynup’s first Canton restaurant, the Painted Pig and we are sorry to see him leave the downtown community. Guynup’s drive to bring people into downtown Canton will surely be missed. The Study will remain open until a new owner comes on board.
We look forward to letting you know what will become of the Study as soon as we know. In the meantime, visit downtown’s newest restaurant, The Snug.
