I had heard great things about The Counter restaurant, but always assumed it was just like any other hamburger joint. But I was wrong.
This LA-based chain started 10 years ago, and has only one Atlanta location (and it’s OTP!). They’ve been in a converted bank building in Roswell since 2008.
From the second you walk in, the look and feel is chic. Wine bottles are lined up on the bar and the whole restaurant has a cool vibe to it.
You get to build your own burger, which sounds easier than it is. There were so many choices, including hormone and antibiotic free beef, ground turkey, vegan veggie, organic bison, ahi tuna, and more! So whether you are craving red meat or your very own version of a burger, The Counter has the selection for you.
You can get your sandwich in a bowl or on a bun, choices of which include a pretzel bun. And don’t even get me started on the gourmet cheeses and premium topping choices — it’s best to review the menu yourself.
Even though I didn’t partake in alcohol, I love their creative concoctions. They have a beer float! Which is vanilla ice cream with a stout. You can also build your own shake — the perfect accompaniment to their burgers.
If you want quality meats, gluten free options, sweet potatoes, kale salad and all the usual unhealthy options that burger places offer, The Counter is for you. The portions are very large, so prepare to have leftovers. The prices are higher than a burger drive through, but for the quality — it is worth it!
