Sometimes Michelle and I find the coolest places to scoop when we get lost OTP! This time, we thought we knew where we were going, but somehow managed to arrive the back way down Paper Mill Road. (If you haven’t ever driven down it, be prepared to see some of East Cobb’s finer homes!)

Paper Mill Grill Scoop OTPWe had read about Paper Mill Grill and finally made time to visit not only the restaurant, but the cute stores in Paper Mill Village too. This is a neighborhood eatery that has some style!

The chef-driven menu features modern renditions of American classics prepared with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The redesigned interior features an energetic bar, inviting dining room and expansive open-air patio.

We started with the panko fried brie appetizer with the jumbleberry jam. Then we all ordered gourmet salads: The East Cobb salad, the Seared Salmon salad, and the Sauteed Shrimp salad. They were delicious. (We realize this isn’t a very well-rounded foodie report, but we were all craving something light after a summer full of ice cream.) We loved the glass bowls that the salads were served in — like a work of art! Afterward, we decidedly passed on dessert, which was hard to do!

Then we hit up some Paper Mill Village stores. Across the street is Straw Dog, a higher-end boutique with cool jewelry by Genie Soul. Then we meandered over to their sister store, Union boutique where we did end up buying some clothes (under $50!)

Paper Mill VillageIf you’re craving sweets, check out the newly expanded Sugar Benders Bakery. If only we lived close by, we would’ve picked up to-go food at Simply Fresh. Dolores is great and she carries tons of locally-made products, like NaturAlmondZenTea, and products by Merrilily’s Gardens.

If you’re a conscientious shopper, check out this decor store called Rescued Too, where everything you buy supports Mutt Madd-ness charity. They had some unique items (maybe from some of those mansions on Paper Mill Road!)

Moxie Burger also anchors the shopping center, which is on our list for our return visit. Overall it was a great experience and well-rounded trip!
